How To Erase Linux Partition?

Posted in Technology by zenmaster on June 18, 2006

Feel frustrated because your Linux partition is not fully erased (i.e: GRUB bootloader is still intact)? Worse comes to worst, you have to perform full format on your computer. Isn’t it frustrating? Fret not, I’ve decided to copy my important archives and paste it on my blog. Here’s a method on how to fully erase the Linux partition.

1) Boot using Windows XP CD and select the first Repair option.
2) Run fixmbr (to get rid of Linux bootloader)
3) Reboot to Windows and we can delete the Linux partitions in: Computer Management > Disk Management, we can recreate FAT32/NTFS partitions and reformat them.

Voila! You’re done.
